The media aren't vigilantes. They can't report what they want, whenever they want however, there are some news outlets who rather let their "talking head" panelists do the guiding of the news cycle rather than real journalists doing real reporting after real research of the story. I will be doing various stories about the media and breaking down how it should work but today, I just want to talk about the murder rate.
It's not a secret. In cities like mine, St. Louis has a high murder rate but NOT the media's fault. Yes, we need programs for the youth but we also need more police as well as more government involvement. Where the media gets the blame is in its reporting. Reporting is a public safety issue.
